Portrait of Napoléon, First Consul

A famous painting of Napoléon in his red clothes of the First Consul was portrayed by Ingres in 1804. Napoléon was 34 year old and points the finger at a document which stipulates the reconstruction of the Amercoeur suburb of Liège, bombed by the Austrians.
In the background, we can see the citadel and the old Saint-Lambert cathedral which, at this time, was already destroyed by the revolutionnaries.
This painting is located in the Liège Museum of Fine Arts.
